How much time one had to convince on the forum Google referencing that the low indent (underscore: “_”) does not make it possible to separate the words for the algorithms from the search engines! It should be changed speech since Matt Cutts has just announced that Google was going soon to regard the underscore as a separator, as well as the indent (or the comma, the slash, etc)…
What will that change? Some envisage large upheavals… not me. Indeed, the presence of key words in the URL is a criterion much less important than than think about it the majority of people (in any case those which are expressed on the subject). That thus says that belonged to the many criteria used by Google inevitably that can change positionings, with a priori a small increase of the pages having key words in their URL separated by underscores. Example of site which could go up? Wikipedia! It is true that it needed some …
Matt Cutts also assure us other things but for my part it is not a question of innovations:
- the number of repertories (virtual or not) does not influence positioning in Google (in other words: a page whose URL has many slashs is not handicapped compared to a page with the root of the site)
- the URL dynamic (those which comprise a question mark followed by names of parameters and values) are treated exactly like the URL statics. That known as according to the article of News.com one can understand that it advises despite everything to be limited to 3 parameters
- the extension of file is not taken into account by Google: you will have as many chances with a URL in .html than in .htm or .aspx or .php (or nothing the whole besides)
