Internet Explorer 8 will see the day in 2008, recently confirmed Bill Veghte, vice president in charge of the Windows division at Microsoft whose remarks were reported by journalist Mary-Jo Foley. So far, the publisher had always shown relatively vague about the date of the forthcoming version of its Web naviagteur, which is currently the most widely used in the world, despite the continued progress made by his great competitor Firefox, which now holds 30% market share in Europe. After a first beta version circulated last March, mainly aimed at developers, Microsoft should put online during the month of August a second test version of Internet Explorer 8. Although closer to the final version, it should be accessible to users, and give a good overview of the new implemented by Microsoft. While the Beta 1 was restricted to a few languages (English and German and Chinese), beta 2 will be translated into more than twenty languages, including french.
The team in charge of development of Internet Explorer 8 recalls that the new version should be more respectful of standards than its predecessors, and that the rendering of Web pages could be different between IE7 and IE8.
