Joris Van der Hoven APRIL initiated on a working group to promote open-source software in scientific research. Himself, author of GNU-TeX macs works in a French university, and he believes the software and / or created during research funded by the State must be Free Software.
The spirit of sharing knowledge that drives research can not be satisfied with the restrictions imposed by proprietary software licenses.
To collect the initiatives in this direction, a working list and discussion french fsfe-france-sci@gnu.org was created.
The posting of web pages is also envisaged. A CVS was created to archive via savannah contributions and web pages.
If you would like to contribute, please register on the above list.
Thank you for your participation.
