By Philippe Cazaban (exclusive columnist) - Finders pragmatic solutions For fifteen days (October 19 last to be precise), I attended a meeting interesting: 200 business leaders gathered to “network” at the initiative of the Business Club 49 The case is not trivial, especially for the province! And yet, Angers, Nantes, Tours, Le Mans and Paris all came with the desire to create new relationships and deepen existing relationships.
The evening was well organized tasting crĂ©mant de Loire and wine from the south-east for the friendliness and “facilitator” encounter for efficiency (to meet someone specific, I specify the “facilitator” which I seek and it is for me). Of course, to take advantage of this evening, it was necessary to prepare a minimum by studying the list of those present aired a few days before the fateful date. In this list (name, position, company, city, state), what are the people or businesses that I want to meet? Why?
Despite good preparation and the presence of “enablers”, it is not necessarily easy to achieve its goal and find a time to exchange with all those planned! Others wish to meet with you and greet you as those you already know. Meanwhile, the clock is ticking inexorably to the end of the evening occurs without having achieved all your goals… It will be more vigilant next time: perhaps limit the list of people to meet (5 or 6?) And concentrate on that goal.
In eight months, Bruno Blanchard, the Convenor of the Business Club 49 (found his profile on Viaduct), has managed a great performance. The local Club meetings regularly attract 80 participants, the first regional event is a great success with its 200 participants and the first issue of a magazine was born (32 pages distributed to 4000 business leaders).
Already, Bruno may cited examples of successful coupling: business transacted or approach made possible prospects. The evening regional tourangeaux allowed to expand their network to Nantes and vice versa. Who by mail, by phone, all sides say their satisfaction comes to Bruno.
This experiment proves the dynamism is also possible in the provinces, provided it is inspired, motivated, organized by a desire to succeed.
Bravo Bruno, long live 49 Business Club and wish her brothers and cousins to the four corner of France!
