Though it can be a bit on the rainy side, Seattle is one of the most aesthetically pleasing U.S. cities. Located on beautiful Puget Sound, Seattle has a thriving music scene (Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden all hail from the Emerald City), serves up a mean cup of joe and is home to some really big technology companies. and locals. Microsoft's corporate headquarters is located in nearby Redmond, Wash., so you know these folks know what's going on around Seattle. Customize the guide to save time finding the activities that interest you.

It's like having a hipster, flannel-wearing cousin (sorry, stereotypes die hard) who lives in the Capitol Hill district of Seattle.
- Trippin' Out Seattle Trippin' Out is a travel 'zine and is the brainchild of a talented and three-dimensional woman named Kelly. Visit Trippin' to get a feel for where to stay, eateries, bars and an events calendar.
- Seattle.com This Seattle directory has a nice arty design and an emphasis on alternative, community-based activities. Highly recommended.

- Seattle's Hottest Spots Though this site is hosted on a government server, it doesn't mention any governmental affiliation. In any case, there are lots of reviews of breweries, restaurants, shopping and other stuff.
